The Sparks held a workshop over the summer to introduce middle school girls to robotics and engineering. Over three days, we taught them how to build, program, and compete with a robot. We introduced these girls to the basics of engineering by showing them how robotics is used in the real world. This allowed them to see how they could use STEM in their lives, “sparking” their interest in this field.
