Directing Captain

Eva Kraus

Hello! My name is Eva, and I am the directing captain of the Sparks. I first got involved in FIRST when I was in sixth grade and joined my school's FLL team! I have loved robotics ever since and couldn't wait to join our high school FTC team, the Sparks! I've been a part of the Sparks since I was a freshman and have been deeply involved in pretty much every aspect of FTC ever since.

Team #5910, The Sparks, is an all-girls team from the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur now in its eighth year. Since its establishment in 2012, the team has expanded greatly in both experience and numbers. With this expansion, our team has grown in capacity and in operation in all areas of FTC Robotics, including building, coding, CAD, outreach, and business. This year we have many exciting new projects underway. If you would like to learn more about these, feel free to use this website as a resource.

In the past, the world of engineering has been heavily male-dominated; though opportunities for women are increasing, there are still disparities within the field of engineering. Our team, therefore, is committed to “sparking” women’s engineering in society by instructing and inspiring our own members, reaching out to our school community, and being active in the engineering community beyond our campus.

If you have any questions about FTC, the Sparks, or any of our projects, please contact us! You can stay connected with us through all means presented in the footer of our website or you can contact me directly using the form on the left!
