The team used their new Carvey milling machine to carve the pieces of their scissor lift. Each side of scissor lift is made of 10 bars. The bars are rectangular prisms with dimensions 10" by 1" by .25". The bars are made from HDPE. All pieces were designed using Easel software.

Channel Pieces

On top of both sides of the scissor lift is a channel piece. The channel pieces keep the scissor lift stable as it extends and retracts. Originally, the chanel pieces were rectangles with dimensions of 11" by 0.5". The channels were carved in at 4.7" and 2.8". Each of the channels had a depth of 0.2". This did not provide enough support for the scissor lift so the dimensions were changed to 11" by 1.7". The channel is 6.8" long and 0.218" tall. They channel is 0.5" from the bottom of the piece, 1" from the top, 3" from the left side, and 1.25" from the right. There are also channel pieces at the bottom of the scissor lift. These channel pieces are made of Delrin because of the material's sturdiness.
